Key Highlights

  • Sony will showcase major PlayStation titles at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 from September 25-28.
  • These titles include new ones like Ghost of Yotei and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and popular titles like Astro Bot.
  • Other publishers like Capcom will also be present at the event.

Sony has finally confirmed the list of PlayStation titles that are set to be present at the 2025 edition of the Tokyo Game Show. Similar to the Summer Game Fest, the Tokyo Game Show is Japan’s biggest video game exhibition, with multiple Japanese developers revealing the titles that they’re working on, or they intend to release soon.

These exhibitions are a nice way for developers to tease their fanbases with teasers and trailers for new and upcoming games. Sometimes, developers use the opportunity to release new games as well. Sony’s presence at this event has been constant for a while now, and they’re set to showcase some major titles, just like they did last year.

Sony to Showcase Ghost of Yotei and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls at Tokyo Game Show 2025

As revealed by the official Japanese version of the PlayStation Blog, Sony will be showcasing both Ghost of Yotei and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls at the event this year. Joining them will be AstroBot, a PlayStation exclusive that bagged the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2024. This is just the preliminary lineup, so it wouldn’t be wrong to expect some more Sony titles at the event.

However, it’s worth noting that Ghost of Yotei and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will be a part of the PlayStation booth, which only industry professionals will have access to. Astro Bot on the other hand, will be available at the Family Park, and will be open to everyone. You can expect the company to reveal more about their lineup in the coming days.

With Ghost of Yotei set for an October 2 release, Sony is likely to use this opportunity to showcase some more details about the title, to increase hype and curiosity amongst gamers.

Considering that it’s a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, there’s a lot riding on this title, especially for the franchise. Sony cannot afford a failure here, because it’ll taint the franchise for good. Additionally, from what they’ve revealed so far, the storyline follows the same trope of revenge, like in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Although it’s unfair to compare both these titles, a comparison is bound to come up sooner or later. While Shadows has received its fair share of criticism, it’s still set a bar, which Ghost of Yotei will have to surpass, if it has to succeed.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a new fighting game that Sony’s been working on. There’s a closed beta that is set to go live early in September. Since it’s a closed beta, not many players will have access to the game, so checking out whatever Sony has to reveal at the Tokyo Game Show should give everyone an idea of what they can expect from it. With Marvel branching out into other forms of media, this new venture might sit exceptionally well with the audience. However, similar to Marvel Rivals, Tokon will need to feature a roster of popular heroes that everyone knows or at least is familiar with.

Tokyo Game Show 2025 Schedule and Other Attendees

As announced on the official Tokyo Game Show 2025 website, the event will last from September 25-28 and will be held in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan. Of the four days, 25 and 26 will be reserved for industry professionals, while 27 and 28, will be reserved for the Family Game Park.

Apart from Sony, Capcom is another major publisher that will also be present at the event. Although they’ve not confirmed their entire showcase list yet, titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Pragmata are some of the titles that will be present at the Tokyo Game Show 2025.
