  • When does the expedition begin and is it worth it to take part in it.
  • What’s the purpose of an expedition and rewards you get from it.

Embark Studios has finally revealed more information on the third Expedition for its hit extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, and there’s been one major change made that is sure to divide the community.

What Is An Expedition In Arc Raiders

In ARC Raiders, an Expedition is an optional, end-game “prestige” or “New Game+” system (unlocked at level 20) where players voluntarily reset their character’s progress including levels, stash, and blueprints in exchange for permanent rewards, such as extra stash slots, unique cosmetics, and bonus skill points. It serves as a “factory reset” for experienced players.

Unlike titles in the genre, ARC Raiders handles seasonal progression wipes differently, giving players the option to reset their character in exchange for some in-game rewards and buffs. While the next Expedition will be no different, once again offering additional Stash space, new cosmetics, and more, Embark has removed the ability to exchange stash value and coins for skill points.

ARC Raiders‘ third Expedition Window will open on Tuesday, April 28, the same day that fans will receive the highly anticipated Riven Tides update. After three major content updates between January and March, Embark is gearing up to release the fourth and final update of the ARC Raiders 2026 roadmap. A full breakdown of the update has yet to be shared by the studio, but it has been confirmed that the free patch will add a brand-new map to the game, alongside a new large ARC enemy, presumably similar to the Queen and Matriarch, and much more.

ARC Raiders Reveals Third Expedition Details

With less than two weeks to go until ARC Raiders‘ big Riven Tides update, Embark has now pulled back the curtain on the shooter’s third Expedition Window. While many of the rewards and buffs are similar to previous Expeditions, Embark is making one major change, as a new blog post confirms that players will earn their five additional Skill Points by dealing damage over a five-day window. Previously, extra Skill Points for after the Expedition were earned via Stash Value and Coins. The window for ARC Raiders‘ third Expedition will open on Tuesday, April 28.

Players will have five days to sign up and complete the requirements before Monday, May 4, where all players who have signed up will then depart automatically. Those who do want to depart on the Expedition can start building their Caravan in game right now, which requires players to contribute various resources and items before the departure. So, to take part in the Expedition, players must complete the Caravan, wait for the Expedition Window, and sign up.

But this is where things get a little different. Instead of ensuring you have enough Stash Value and Coins for the five additional Skill Points, players now need to complete a challenge within the five-day window. All five Skill Points can now be unlocked by dealing damage.

Embark says this challenge can be completed by dealing damage with any weapon or gadget against any target (except in the practice range). The Catch Up mechanic, which allows players who took part in the previous Expedition but didn’t meet the requirements to earn all five Skill Points, is also returning. While the five Skill Points tied to the upcoming Expedition will be awarded via the new damage challenge, any Points from previous Expeditions are still associated with Stash Value. Each Point will once again cost 300,000 Coins or Stash Value, so the overall requirement will vary depending on how many Skill Points the player is trying to catch up with.

Why Is the Expedition Worth It & Rewards You Can Get From Doing It

For anyone wondering if ARC Raiders‘ Expedition is even worth it, there are various other rewards and buffs, such as the additional 12 stash space slots, consecutive buffs for those who have completed numerous Expeditions, and more. There will also be an evolved version of the Patchwork outfit, alongside new toggles, allowing players to remove the helmet, bandolier, and leg accessories.
