Black Cat Finally Joins Marvel Rivals In Season 7.5, And She Sounds Familiar

Black Cat is the latest character to join the Marvel Rivals roster, and she’ll be playable by the time you read this. Many of you will have already taken the latest Rivals addition for a spin, and there’s a strong chance that after hearing your voice, you’re racking your brain trying to figure out why she sounds familiar.

Black Cat: The Newest Member Joining Marvel Rivals

Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) has been released in Marvel Rivals on April 17, 2026, as part of the Season 7.5 mid-season update. She joins the roster as a Duelist role character (49th hero), focusing on high-mobility, close-quarters combat, and a unique “thievery” mechanic, with her voice provided by Erica Lindbeck.

  • Mobility: Wall-climbing, double-jumping, and two dash abilities.
  • Grappling Hook: Pulls her toward targets or pulls enemies toward her, dealing damage and cutting their HP pool.
  • Fortune Mechanic: She steals “Fortune” from enemies, which can be traded for powerful items like the Ring of Zona or Helm of Hades from the New York Thieves Guild’s vault.
  • Ultimate (The Ultimate Heist): Felicia pounces between enemies, stunning them and stealing a portion of their Ultimate charge to power a final dash-through attack.
  • Team-Up (Lucky Loan): When teamed with White Fox or Captain America, she acts as an anchor to boost their abilities (e.g., expanding Captain America’s shield radius) while gaining a 5% damage boost herself.

Erica Lindbeck Is Back As Black Cat

Erica Lindbeck is the voice of Black Cat in Marvel Rivals. If that’s still not ringing any bells, Lindbeck is the same actor who played Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Black Cat has a significant role to play in the first Spider man game on PS4, particularly if you have played its City Never Sleeps DLC, and Lindbeck returned to the role for a cameo in a Miles Morales mission in Spider-Man 2.

Now she’s back in the virtual catsuit again, but as an alternate version of the character. Well, I’m assuming the Black Cat in Rivals isn’t the same one that exists in Insomniac’s Spider-Verse. While there are official connections between the games – you can unlock Peter Parker’s advanced suit from the PlayStation games – there’s no suggestion that the characters engaged in Rivals’ eternal fight have been pulled from other games, or from anywhere else in the Marvel multiverse we’ve been shown before. Black Cat isn’t the first in-game feline Lindbeck has voiced. She’s also the voice of Blaze the Cat in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Erica Lindbeck Has Been In A Lot Of Video Games

Still not where you recognize Lindbeck from? Well, that makes sense, as she has played the roles of a lot of characters in games you’ve probably played. The actor as Jessie in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Glitch in Marathon, Dolly from Date Everything, and there’s even a Helldiver voice in Helldivers 2 that belongs to her. Plus, Black Cat isn’t her only Marvel gig – Lindbeck is also the voice of Captain Marvel in the criminally underrated Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

Those who still can’t place Black Cat’s voice, then it can’t be helped. But as for those who still playing Rivals might want to revisit the game for a week or two every time there’s a new character, Black Cat is available now. As is always the case with new characters, getting her at the start of a match before somebody else will be tricky. Play her as much as you can during this first weekend, though. History dictates that, as with most new Rivals characters, Black Cat will be broken and overpowered, and then fixed with an update in the coming weeks.
