Like most other free to play gacha games, Zenless Zone Zero also features a rotating roster of characters. Each major version update brings with it new characters, events and additional other in-game features (such as quality of life improvements), and the upcoming version 2.3 update is no different in this regard.
This particular update has a large emphasis on the Halloween event, and brings with it the rest of the Spook Shack faction’s playable cast into the mix. HoYoverse also shared additional information on the game’s upcoming characters and banners, which is expected to be finalized during the livestream sometime later today.
Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 Update and Livestream Release Date and Time
As is tradition with most major version updates, HoYoverse has scheduled a ‘Special Program’ broadcast event for Zenless Zone Zero, ahead of version 2.3’s launch.

The special programme will be broadcast on the official Twitch and YouTube channels of the game, on September 29, 2025 at around 7:30 AM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC +8).
This should be followed by the release of version 2.3 across all supported platforms within the next 2 weeks. Do keep in mind that we don’t really have an officially confirmed release date just yet, for version 2.3’s release. Expect a full reveal to be made sometime during the livestream itself.
What to Expect From Version 2.3 of Zenless Zone Zero
Titled the ‘Memories of Dreams Begone’, version 2.3 of Zenless Zone Zero brings with it many updates and additions to the base version of the game.
Perhaps the biggest addition to the game would be in the form of three brand new characters, all of whom belong to the Spook Shack faction. For the uninitiated, Spook Shack is the newest, paranormal research focused faction in Zenless Zone Zero.
The upcoming members include Manato, Lucia and Yidhari, with affinities toward Fire, Ether and Ice respectively. Lucia and Yidhari are expected to be S-Rank units, which means that players will have to spend a lot more pulls to try to obtain this particular unit.
On the other hand, Manato is expected to be an A-Rank unit, which in other words, means that he is potentially easier to acquire and is far less powerful when compared to S-Ranks. Spook Shack already has two playable members in the current version 2.2, in the form of two playable S-Rank Agents, Alice and Yuzuha. Miss Esme Bangboo is also a part of the lineup.

With version 2.3, the Spook Shack team lineup is expected to be complete, and this also coincidentally happens to align with the upcoming Halloween festival in October. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, we can expect there to be some sort of celebratory events being added to Zenless Zone Zero.
Expect there to be a multitude of spooky, Halloween themed events. We might even see Spook Shack make an appearance in the event alongside protagonists Wise and Belle. Other than this, we should have our usual selection of bug fixes and quality of life adjustments, although these should be rather minor in their scope.
Additionally, players can also get their hands on a ton of freebies during the course of version 2.3, including free Polychromes and summoning currency, which can in turn be used to summon for the newer units.
