Microsoft has rolled out a set of features with the Xbox Insider update including game captures, achievement tracking, cloud saves, and wishlists. The updates start going live today for some Xbox Insider users, and will reach more players gradually. The headline addition is the option to include voice chat in gameplay captures, alongside expanded achievement sorting, cloud save restoration, and a larger wishlist limit. Some features are launching first for Alpha Skip-Ahead members, while others are already available to Xbox Insiders or even all Xbox players. Microsoft says the changes are aimed at giving players more control over captures and saved data.
Voice Chat Recording and Better Achievement Tracking Arrive for Xbox Insiders
Of all the new additions, the ability to add party chat audio to game captures stands out given its popular demand amongst Xbox gamers. Microsoft says many memorable moments happen during chat with friends, and players can now record those conversations alongside gameplay. Starting now, Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring can pick whether party chat is included in recordings. Privacy controls are also built in, letting each player decide if their own voice gets recorded. Only the players who opt in have their voice audio included.
The update expands beyond party chat. Players who are not in a party can choose to record game chat audio as well. This offers more flexibility depending on how users play and communicate. Achievement history is getting an upgrade, too. The new sorting options are meant to help players quickly find titles and monitor all kinds of progress.
Beyond the existing “last played” view, Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders can sort achievement history by game name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, or achievements unlocked. Every sorting option works in both ascending and descending order, so players can check their progress however they like. Microsoft frames the options as useful for completionists, Gamerscore targets, and general browsing alike.

Cloud Save Recovery Expands While Wishlists Grow to 1,000 Games
Players also get more control over their saved data with cloud save recovery. Now, Xbox Insiders can restore previously synced cloud saves straight from the console for supported games. Microsoft says this feature is already live for Xbox Insiders and will roll out to more players next week. It is debuting with Forza Horizon 6, letting users browse cloud save versions and restore one if needed.
The option sits under Manage game & add-ons, then Saved data, then Restore saved data. Microsoft confirmed more games will gain support in future updates. The wishlist limit has also risen. It is live for all players, who can now add up to 1,000 games. Microsoft says the expanded wishlist helps players track the games they are interested in, follow new releases, or wait for the perfect moment to buy.
Microsoft thanked Insiders for feedback and asked for continued reports. Players looking for help can join the Xbox Insider subreddit, where official Xbox staff, moderators, and the community are ready to assist. Microsoft recommends joining existing threads before making a new one to keep support efficient. Anyone not yet in the Xbox Insider Program can join by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Windows PC. The program offers early access to new features and lets gamers help shape the future of Xbox through their feedback.
