Xbox is all set to kick off the new year with a Developer Direct, scheduled for later this month. The Direct brings with it multiple game announcements for both upcoming and unannounced titles, and is sure to be quite a treat for fans.

When and Where to Watch the Xbox Developer Direct for January 2026
The Xbox Developer Direct begins January 22, 2026. More precisely, it will begin at around 10 AM Pacific Time (PT)/1 PM Eastern Time (ET)/6 PM UK Time (GMT).
You can tune into the official Xbox YouTube channel for the stream. Additionally, the stream will also be simultaneously broadcast on the other official social media channels for Xbox, including Twitch and X.

What to Expect From the Xbox Developer Direct for January 2026
Expect quite a few surprises, given that this is Xbox’s 25th anniversary year, after all. Xbox has teased the return of some legendary franchises, including the likes of Fable and perhaps even a surprise remaster.
As far as confirmed appearances go, we have Fable to begin with. The new Fable game should be releasing later this year, and Playground Games seems to want to go full throttle with it during the Developer Direct showcase. The blog does mention a ‘reimagined’ experience for newcomers and fans alike, so we’ll have to wait and see how that pans out.
Next on the list is Forza Horizon 6, Playground Games’ next mainline entry in the Forza Horizon series. While Forza Horizon 5 wasn’t a particularly bad game, it had its fair share of flaws, which makes the wait for the sixth entry all the more enticing (especially with it introducing Japanese regions this time around).

The final entry happens to be the Beast of Reincarnation, the surprise title that was announced earlier last year, developed in collaboration with Game Freak (yes, the ones behind the Pokemon games!).
Beast of Reincarnation is a post apocalyptic game set in Japan, and looks to be quite unlike anything the team has done so far.
There’s sure to be plenty more surprises incoming though, so we’ll have to stay tuned until the official announcements drop.
Is There a Fallout 3 Remaster Incoming?
Xbox isn’t one to end their showcases without a surprise reveal at the end, and this year’s January 2026 Developer Direct is not expected to be any different either. Fans are speculating that there is a secret, fourth game within the showcase, which would be according to plan.
The secret game in question is expected to be the hotly anticipated Fallout 3 remaster. As spotted by multiple individuals online, the Fallout show’s (on Amazon Prime) home page now features a rather curious little easter egg.
The easter egg in question is done in the style of previous Fallout game maps, and scrolling to the upper right corner of the map reveals a mysterious countdown timer that goes up until February 4, 2026.
This so happens to be the date of the final episode for Season 2 of Fallout, and this would tie in well with the ongoing theory of a Fallout 3 remake.
