Like most live service games, Valorant recently received a fairly large update in the form of version 12.01, which brought with it a bunch of competitive changes and bug fixes as well.

That being said, the whole patch notes can be a bit hard to digest, so here is everything you need to know about the same.

Valorant 12.01 Full Patch Notes Detailed

The version 12.01 patch is mandatory, and brings with it more than a few notable changes to the existing version of the game.

Competitive Updates and Esports Features

Players will now have to enable Riot Mobileโ€™s multi factor authentication within the European Union, in order to be able to access the Competitive Queue. Other modes remain unaffected, and this is a mandatory step moving forward.

Players can also access the Esports Hub ahead of VCT 2026, wherein they can meet teams from the Path to Champions and watch their journey through the Kickoffs of the International League, which should keep them informed of new developments.

Bug Fixes

  • Agent: Ability icons now update even when a player has been debuffed repeatedly with the same kind of debuff.
  • Harbor: Harborโ€™s Reckoning overworld damage indicator now lines up with the actual ability. His Cove now has an ability icon on the minimap.
  • Fade: Using Fadeโ€™s Prowler now correctly renders in Left Handed Mode.
  • Gekko: Dizzy now targets players correctly, making for higher accuracy.
  • Viper: Viperโ€™s Pit now shows a more consistent VFX when anyone uses a freecam to observe it.
  • Chamber/Veto: Vetoโ€™s Crosscut and Chamberโ€™s Rendevouz no longer overlaps on Agents.
  • Killjoy: Equipping an Odin no longer has Killjoyโ€™s neck and hair clip though.
  • Sage: Sageโ€™s Healing Orb will no longer have its UI visible when allies break the line of sight.
  • Phoenix: Respawning from Run It Back no longer keeps Phoenix โ€˜nearsightedโ€™. Additionally, the Hot Hands VFX Trail no longer emerge from an inaccurate location when thrown from the B Window on Bind.
  • Yoru: Yoru can no longer cancel Dimensional Drift by casting Gatecrash right after the buy phase barrier drops. Additionally, his Fakeout clone can no longer be pushed away by Vetoโ€™s Chokehold.

Modes

  • Agents with continuous ultimates no longer drop an Ultimate Orb on death.
  • The Next random Agent widget does not overlap text on consoles.
  • The glass breaking audio event on Ascent is now fixed, when the site is out of bounds.
  • Loadouts no longer reset to default selections.
  • Bullet tracers now appear even after you shoot through a wall, something which was spotty before.

Bug Fixes (PC)

  • Premier team tags are now displayed in custom game lobbies.
  • Premier team names and tags no longer overlap.

This wraps it up for the full patch notes for Valorant 12.01.
