The Last of Us is going to deepen its ties to the beloved video game series with the arrival of a major character.

In the trailer for this Sundayโ€™s upcoming Episode 4, fans witnessed their first glimpse of Isaac, who is a key figure from The Last of Us: Part II.

Played once again by Jeffrey Wright, who voiced the character in the game, Isaacโ€™s introduction hints at a richer exploration of his story.

The trailer does not just tease Isaacโ€™s debut. It also hints at intense new developments; a fierce battle against the infected looms, and tensions rise when Dina (played by Isabela Merced) points a gun at Ellie (Bella Ramsey).

Fans believe that this confrontation could aid Ellie revealing her immunity to the infection. This is a big moment that could redefine her relationship with Dina.

Adding to the excitement, another new face is expected to join the cast later this season. Joe Pantoliano, known for his memorable roles in The Sopranos and The Matrix, will portray Eugene, which is a character mentioned but never seen in the original game. His appearance will add fresh layers to the storyโ€™s complex world.

This past weekโ€™s episode saw Ellie reeling after the death of her protector, Joel. Alongside Dina, she journeys to a tense and dangerous Seattle with the burning need for revenge against Abby.

Along the way, the duo uncovers chilling signs of violence as the W.L.F. ( tightens its grip on the city.
