Rockstar Games has officially announced a revision to its Terms of Service (ToS), set to take effect on March 28, 2025. The news arrives as fans eagerly anticipate the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), which is expected to launch in fall 2025.
While the update does not provide any new information about the upcoming title, it disclosed revised legal guidelines governing users’ interactions with Rockstar’s products and services.
According to Rockstar’s support website, the updated ToS aims to clarify user obligations regarding content and conduct when engaging with the company’s services. One of the main revisions involves the “binding arbitration agreement”, which will apply to all players outside the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and Australia. This adjustment could have legal implications for dispute resolutions involving Rockstar Games.
The complete Terms of Service update will be published on February 28, 2025, on Rockstar Games’ legal webpage, where the current ToS is also available. However, the changes will officially take effect on March 28, 2025. From the date onward, players will be required to accept the new terms upon signing in to continue accessing Rockstar’s products and services.
Despite ongoing speculation, Rockstar’s latest announcement did not include any fresh details about GTA 6. Since releasing the first official trailer in December 2023, the developer has remained tight-lipped regarding further leaks.
However, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, reaffirmed in its latest earnings call on February 6, 2025, that GTA 6 remains on track for a fall 2025 release, initially announced in May 2024.
