- Fortnite X Overwatch collab is officially on its way.
- New weapons and ways to play/fight in game.
- New skins, landmarks, quests and rewards.
The heroes of Overwatch are coming to Fortnite this week. Epic Games and Blizzard Entertainment confirmed the poorly kept secret that D.Va, Genji, Mercy, and Tracer are dropping onto island this week, and for some reason, D.Va brought a huge sword.
Fortnite X Overwatch Is Finally Here
This Collaboration was first leaked all the way back in January by a former Epic Games contractor who has since been sued by the publisher over the leaks. Since nearly everything else that person leaked has already happened, fans wondered if the collaboration had been canceled over that incident but now its finally here.

A new trailer has finally revealed the Fortnite x Overwatch collab that we’ve all been waiting for, showcasing Tracer, Mercy, D.Va, and Genji as battle royale game’s newest cast members. The crossover is the latest piece in the Blizzard shooter’s ongoing 10th anniversary celebrations, which have so far left fans wanting a bit more excitement. Perhaps the jump to Fortnite could deliver that, although a heavy reliance on classic faces and old-school sayings in the teaser are keeping my expectations in check.
The full extent of the crossover hasn’t been officially revealed, but D.Va, Genji, Mercy, and Tracer will arrive on Thursday, May 14. The trailer’s artwork teases that the King’s Row clocktower will be featured in map, but expect more details on launch day.
New Ways To Fight And Play The Game
What appears from the gameplay and banners of the the collab are, two new hero weapon “Caduceus Staff from Mercy” and “Pulse Pistols from Tracer” will be ground loot similar to how marvel weapons were available in older seasons. Plays will be able to use the weapons and its abilities just the way they work.

With This we also get new landmarks or POI like:
- Hanamaru
- Busan Drum Pivilion
- King’s Row
- Watch Points
Gameplay changes/features:
- No lethal fall damage – Fall damage will be reduced and the damage will be minimum.
- Zero Build- This weapons and modes will be available in Zero Build mode as well
- Infinite sprint with pickaxe- While carrying the pickaxe players will have unlimited stamina , making getaways and pushing fights more easier.
- Starting loadout- before getting in the match players can select a starting loadout when gliding in the match.
- Overshield siphon- Siphon is back , meaning shields will recharge upon eliminating any enemy players just like before.
- New pocket items- New Pocket items like throwables, traps and gadgets are also being added this update.
