Rockstar Games surprised its fans on May 6 with a brand-new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. The release comes just days after Rockstar pushed the game’s launch to May 2026, a delay from its earlier Fall 2025 schedule.
The trailer delivers upon fans’ expectations from the anticipated GTA instalment, featuring explosive action, neon skylines, and high-speed chases. It also gives a much closer look at the game’s sun-soaked setting of Vice City and its two lead characters, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Is Crypto Finally Coming To GTA VI?
The trailer of the game subtly nods to themes of today’s real world, including money laundering, online scams, and digital currencies. The storyline hints at a heist gone wrong, which pulls the duo into a deep conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida. However, that seldom confirms much about the inclusion of crypto in the game.
In an official statement back in 2022, Take-Two explicitly banned the use of cryptocurrencies and NFTs from both GTA and Red Dead Redemption servers. Although Rockstar has not confirmed whether Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies will play a direct role in GTA VI, several online speculations have fuelled fans’ interest in the same.
Two popular gamers and streamers, Adin Ross and Richard “FaZe Banks” Bengtson, have disclosed their plans to run a crypto server “when GTA 6 drops.” Previously, Rockstar had shut down The Trenches, a GTA Online server backed by rapper Lil Durk that featured NFTs, following its 2022 policy. For now, fans can expect to hear more from the developers by the end of the year or early 2026.
