Fortnite OG has been working its way back through Chatper 1, taking one season at a time. Season 8 was originally to conclude on June 17, 2026 but, with a surprising extension to it, making the community already brimming with anticipation to what will come next.

While there are numerous speculations hinting that June 25 could be the start date for the OG Chapter 1 Season 9, Epic Games is yet to confirm or deny it. However, given the detailed leaks, and the timing, the claims are worth examining.

Fortnite OG Season 9 Expected Map – Neo Tilted, Mega Mall, and a Destabilized Zero Point

Fortnite OG Season 8 now ends on June 24, and has been confirmed via Fortnite Wiki and through the in-game OG Pass, listing its own expiry. With the next season just around the corner, fans are nostalgic about the theme “The Future Is Yours,” which was introduced first in May 2019. It followed the volcano eruption that closed Season 8 and rebuilt the map around futuristic tech.

LocationWhat It IsStatus per Leaks
Neo TiltedFuturistic rebuild of Tilted TowersLikely to return as the season’s flagship POI
Mega MallRetail Row rebuilt as a shopping complexMultiple leaks suggest confirmed return
Pressure PlantBuilt over the former volcano craterMultiple leaks suggest confirmed return
Polar PeakThe frozen castle POIMay return in a destroyed state
The Zero PointThe island’s core energy sourceCan play a major role, with exposed and destabilized elements

Moreover, leaks on X further hint at an overview from the OG Season 9 layout featuring a snowy west, green centre, desert east, and the volcano zone. Imagery tied to Polar Peak and the Zero Point reportedly carries the Devourer eye motif, setting up the season’s central threat.

Fortnite’s OG Season 9 Could Return The Devourer, the Mecha, and the Final Showdown Event

One of the major fan favourite moments in the original Season 9 was the Final Showdown Event. According to leaker SentinelCentral, the major beats are likely to reprise themselves in order.

The arc could begin with the Devourer’s reveal and escape from Polar Peak. The monster’s emergence may run parallel to the gradual construction of the Mecha Team Leader, the giant robot which OG players remember getting built piece by piece across the season. Both these threads would build toward the Final Showdown, the live Mecha versus Monster event which still remains one of the most-watched moments in Fortnite history. Both these events could be tied together by the Zero Point in the next OG Season X.

Fortnite Update 41.10 Battle Pass, Cosmetics To Expect

The Season 9 OG Pass is expected to lean heavily on the original lineup. Rumours point to remixed or returning versions of skins like Rox, Demi, and Singularity, alongside fan favorites such as Vendetta and Chicken. Along with these, new styles, Super Styles, or modern updates may also be applied to the classics rather than straight re-releases.

The broader Update 41.10, which includes the OG Season 9, could reportedly brings a wider cosmetics and skins wave beyond the classic from the Pass:

  • New Icon Series skins, with Olivia Rodrigo expected
  • Rambo, Dave the Diver, Control Resonant, a John Wick sprite, and Polo Prodigy for LEGO
  • Resident Evil updates
  • New car bodies, pets and sidekicks, Jam Tracks, emotes, and bundles

Gameplay and Other Expected Changes

Fortnite fans can expect that the original weapon would be updated with recent quality-of-life and mobility changes from the Reload and Blitz modes.

The Proximity Launcher is a likely returning weapon, along with vehicles and mechs tied directly to the storyline. The Infinity Blade has also surfaced in recent OG context, though its role in Season 9 specifically is unclear at the moment. Fans should take these leaks with a pinch of salt, since Epic Games is yet to officially make an announcement.
