Key Highlights:
- Xbox has had a rough year in 2025, facing numerous issues.
- A recent leak points toward better days for Xbox coming soon.
- The leaks mention new showcases and events, between November 2025 to January 2026.
It’s no secret that Xbox has had a rough year. From multiple layoffs, the closure of entire game studios (and their in progress games, such as the Perfect Dark remake), and the raising of Game Pass prices worldwide, things have never been so bleak for Xbox.
However, as per recent leaks, the gaming giant might be looking to finally bounce back, with a slew of titles and events planned for the remainder of 2025 and beyond.
Xbox Has Multiple Events Scheduled for 2025 and Beyond
As per a report from Windows Centralโs Jez Corden, Xbox is on track to release a multitude of events between November 2025 to January 2026. The information was provided to Jez via a trustworthy source, and given his generally respectable track record, it should hold up to the test.
With all that in mind, the first set of events should be up with IGNโs own ID@Xbox showcase, scheduled for October 28, 2025. The event will be hosted on IGNโs official YouTube channels and has a heavy focus on Xboxโs Play Anywhere motto.
Expect there to be numerous announcements related to Xbox Cloud Gaming (including what could perhaps be out first look at an ad supported tier for the service), Xbox Game Pass, and of course, new games.
That about wraps it up for already announced events. According to Windows Insider though, Microsoft is preparing for an โXbox Partner Previewโ showcase, scheduled for sometime in November, 2025.

Novemberโs showcase will mostly focus on third party titles, and yet again, a greater focus on Xbox Play Anywhere games. These third party titles will however, be restricted to Microsoftโs own publishing partners (instead of the usual).
Xbox is also expected to have a significant presence on this yearโs Game Awards, which will take place on December 11, 2025. Unfortunately, we really donโt know enough about these expected announcements just yet, but Xbox is sure to bring its A-game to the prestigious award ceremony.
The leaks end with the mention of a dedicated Developer Direct showcase, scheduled for sometime in January 2026. The showcase will no doubt focus on Xboxโs plans for 2026 and beyond, so expect there to be more information about the Halo CE remake there (including hopefully a possible release date!)
This is as far as these leaks extend. As always, treat these as mere possibilities, and not as the gospel – and take everything with a grain of salt.
Will Xbox Finally Make Its Comeback?
Thereโs no doubt that Xbox has fallen out of most fansโ good graces. Recent events have shaped Xbox to be at the center of controversy, and much of this is unfortunately due to its own faults at play here.
With the current console wars being allegedly over (after all, Halo is making its way to PlayStation, a feat that was deemed impossible once) for many fans, Xbox is stuck without exclusives to hold on to, and an increasingly disgruntled playerbase.
That doesnโt mean that Xbox is finished though. The company still has plenty of fight left in it, and is merely reshaping its policies to something a bit more different.
With all that in mind, Xbox might just be ready to make a comeback, if these leaks hold true – with 2026 being a notably stronger year for the gaming brand.
