Xbox’s Latest Free Play Days Offering Celebrates A Beloved Franchise
On 21 May, the 10th annual Warhammer Skulls Showcase went live. It brought some exciting announcements for new Warhammer games and collaborations as well as updates for existing titles, free demos included. From 21 May to 25 May, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play five Warhammer games at no additional cost to celebrate the franchise, and they’re all bangers.
Here are all the free Warhammer games available on Xbox Game Pass:
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a great place to start, as it’s basically Baldur’s Gate 3 with Warhammer characters. Players will cannot find a better story driven RPG. This will keep players occupied for over 100 hours. And do not expect to beat it in a weekend.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition
For something a little more action-packed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition is the third-person shooter for player and fans. It tells the story of Captain Titus as he attempts to push back an Ork invasion threatening the world of Graia, but there are sinister and chaotic forces at work behind-the-scenes.
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr Ultimate Edition
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr Ultimate Edition is an action-RPG that places you in the boots of the Imperium’s “most powerful agent.” It is not as exciting as the Space Marine stories but it’s still worth a go while it’s free-to-play and experience
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is a game that X-COM fans will want to try this one. There is no better time to dive in, either as a new Chaos Gate game called Warhammer 40000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch was announced as part of the Warhammer Skulls festivities. In this game, you lead a team of Grey Knights, a secret order of Space Marines tasked with purging demonic entities that threaten humanity.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector
Last but not least, is Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. This is arguably the closest players and fans will get to playing the actual tabletop game in a video game. The heroic Blood Angels and Cruel Tyranids are the primary focus of this turn based tactics game but plenty of additional factions were added as DLC. It is a lot of fun and if someone who is very interested in the real life miniatures, this is a good game to check out first.
Players do not need a specific tier to access any of the above titles. A subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential will do. These five Warhammer games will return to their original prices on 25 May.

- Find and install the games on each of the individual game details pages on Xbox.com.
- Clicking through will send you to the Microsoft Store, where you must be signed in to see the option to install with your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential membership.
- To download on console, click on the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and navigate down to the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
