Like most gacha games, Wuthering Waves also features a rotating set of character and weapon banners, which are refreshed bi monthly, and during the introduction of a new game version and/or cumulative update.
The upcoming version 2.7 of Wuthering Waves is no different in this regard, and will feature a brand new 5-star Resonator character, along with a few more additional events and log in bonuses, which will be discussed in detail.
When Does Wuthering Waves’ Version 2.7 Release?
Wuthering Waves version 2.7 releases on October 9, 2025 at around 11 AM (UTC +8). This will be a cumulative update to the already ongoing version 2.6, and players can already preload the update ahead of its release, as of the time of writing this article.

Naturally, as time zones are a thing, expect there to be differences in timings and dates for the update, depending on your current region.
What to Expect From the Wuthering Waves Version 2.7 Update
Version 2.7, ‘Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides’ will have a ton to offer to players. The first and perhaps most important addition would be in the form of a new Resonator (a fancy word for a playable character), known as Galbrena.
Galbrena is a 5-star, Fusion character who uses a Pistol as her weapon class of choice. She will be accompanied by Sanhua, Mortefi and Lumi as the other three 4-star rate up units in this banner.
Galbrena’s banner will be made available in the first half of Wuthering Waves 2.7, and can be acquired until October 30, 09:59 server time – after which she will be removed from the rate up banner for good.

Galbrena will also be accompanied by Lupa, yet another 5-star Fusion character on her own separate banner. Lupa will also feature the same 3 4-star characters, and will be run simultaneously as a rerun unit.
As far as weapons go, Galbrena’s signature, 5-star weapon will be made available for summoning, known as ‘Lux & Umbra’. Lupa’s ‘Wildfire Mark’ featured weapon will also be made available in a separate banner.
This will be followed by the release of Qiuyuan, yet another 5-star character alongside the likes of Yangyang, Taoqi and Danjin (all three of whom are 4-star characters). Qiuyuan’s banner will replace Galbrena and will be available until November 19.
Zani will also make her return here, and will be rerun alongside Quiyuan.
Both Emerald Sentence and Blazing Justice will also be up for grabs (signature, 5-star weapons for Qiuyuan and Zani respectively). This more or less covers all banners.
As far as events are concerned, we have the following:
- Lament Recon: Solaris Soldier (combat event)
- Gifts of Approaching Dawn (log in event)
- Gifts of Ink Song (log in event)
- Septimont Weather Forecast (featured event, focused on platforming)
- Freeze Frame: Action Highlights (combat focused photography event)
- Lollo Campaign: Ice Savior (featured commission event)
- Chord Cleansing: Limited time echo double drop event
- Bountiful Crescendo: Limited time material double drop event
- Pioneer Podcast (rerun)
Quite a few of these events include reruns. Only a handful of these are mentioned to be entirely new, which is par for the course. Players can obtain a ton of in-game materials, including the lucrative Astrite, by simply participating in these events.
Every Asterite counts, especially when chasing down new featured characters. As such, players are recommended to participate in these events and nab the rewards for themselves.
