Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision’s largest free-to-play battle royale, is reportedly gearing up to drop a brand-new Resurgence map. According to the a credible leaker, @TheGhostOfHope on X, the new Resurgence map, will release with the Black Ops 7 integration with Season 1 in late 2025.

The Resurgence mode is known for its faster pace and respawn mechanics and is already a a fan-favorite alternative to the traditional battle royale format. Resurgence had first made its debut in 2020 with Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. While Warzone has seen how previous maps like Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep, and Vondel offered intense and condensed action, the new map addition is already generating excitement within the fans.

How Black Ops 7 could define Warzone
Most fans already know how each new Call of Duty instalment reshapes Warzone. Black Ops 7 is expected to bring the new wall-jumping and an upgraded omnimovement system to Warzone’s gamplay. The speculated Resurgence map was not overly enjoyed by playtesters according to @TheGhostOfHope. But how fans percieve it as a whole will only be seen after release.

@RealityUK, another credible leaker on X, confirmed that the map will take place in Liberty Falls and feature Shattered Veil and other Black Ops 6 Zombies locations. And talking about zombies, there’s a lot to watch out for that in Black Ops 7.
What We Know About Black Ops 7
The latest instalment in the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise – Black Ops 7, is all set for its release on November 14th. Set in the year 2035, the game has a much human vs modern tech theme underlying in the trailer. Here’s a quick look at it.
The game is available to pre-order for both Xbox, and PlayStation platforms, offering a free “Reznov Challenge Pack” bundled for ones who avail it. The antagonist in the game is Raul Menendez, a Nicaraguan drug lord and leader of the terrorist organization Cordis Die. While not much can be said on how he is back in the series from the trailer, a likely guess is via an AI system or an illusion.
Beyond the trailer, not much is known about the plot of the campaign, except that David Mason and The Guild will make their return in the upcoming title.
Black Ops 7 also promises to feature the largest Zombie Maps Ever in the series. The game will also reintroduce round-based zombies. The game will take off from the ending of Black Ops 6 Zombies, where the Dark aether had taken Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey, and now players will have to gear up to face alternate versions of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo in some capacity.
Players could also check out the Dead Ops Arcade 4 mode which are packed with power-ups, traps, and waves of enemies, letting one play with up to four friends. The game will also see Global Progression feature for the first time in the series, which means players can now gain XP across Zombies, Campaigns, Multiplayer and Warzone (Season 1).
