Even so, none of that has officially come from Konami or Bloober Team. So far, the companies have not given out specifics on gameplay, changes to the story, or what new features might be added in the remake.
What Konami and Bloober Team Have Confirmed
What is confirmed is that Bloober Team is working on the original Silent Hill remake. In a recent KONAMI PRESS announcement, Konami made it official, showing both the Konami and Bloober Team logos, the original Silent Hill title, and the words “In Development”. Konami later clarified the partnership: they are teaming up with the Bloober team with this new remake.
Konami also talked a bit about how the deal came together. Bloober Team credits the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake for building trust between the companies and leading to this new agreement. The studio says the partnership will help them grow as a developer and keep collaborating on Konami’s franchises, with Konami staying on as both publisher and copyright holder.
Piotr Babieno, Bloober Team’s CEO, called the partnership a success and said the strong response to Silent Hill 2 shows both sides are committed to quality. He admits they cannot say much about the new project yet, but he thinks players will be happy once they get more information.
The previous remake got solid reviews after it dropped in October 2024; Silent Hill 2 scored an 87 on Metacritic for PC and 86 for PlayStation 5, according to Bloober Team. The positive reception is part of the reason the two companies are keeping the partnership going.
So far, there is still no release date for the Silent Hill remake. Reports say it could still be a few years away, and it is expected on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X/S.
