More on the event, where to watch it and of its expected reveals below.
When and Where to Watch the OG Butterfly Event in Fortnite
This particular Live Event will take place on November 8, 2025 at around 2 PM EST in Fortnite itself. Obviously, time zones are a thing, and youโll have to take this into account before you jump into the live event.

The official, in-game description of the event goes as follows:
Small wings that create huge ripples across reality. Experience the dimension-warping effects of the Butterfly!
You can watch the event unfold in-game. Simply head on over to the Leaky Lake and wait for it to begin at the mentioned time and dates above (which will vary depending on your local time zone).
Make sure to be prepared beforehand, and grab a seat nearby. There may be a slight delay in the start of the event, so keep that in mind before you log off too early.
Additionally, youโll want to log into any of Fortniteโs OG game modes before the event begins, preferably as early as humanly possible. This is to avoid being swamped in a waiting queue for when the event actually goes live.
What to Expect from the OG Butterfly Event
Unfortunately, thereโs not a whole lot we know about the upcoming event just yet. What we do know is that it will involve Revin the Cube and Leaky Lake as its central points of interest.
The event technically began with update v37.51, where Revin the Cube began to crack, distorting reality in the process. This was followed by update v38.00, where Revin the Cube cracked wide open, dripping Nectar into the Vault below.
All of this culminated in the โactivationโ of a live event zone, which is set to be followed by the release of The Butterfly Effect, which is another term for the OG Butterfly event in Fortnite.

However, exact details on the nature of this event (along with its rewards) are still hazy, so we’ll have to wait for it to be revealed.
Like most other Fortnite events though, the OG Butterfly event will likely bring a few challenges, mini maps and free cosmetics to unlock. If thereโs more information to be unearthed here, weโll keep you updated.
This event isnโt a collaboration with other IPs, and is a completely original Fortnite event – something which is more of a rarity these days. Regardless, its still quite exciting to witness, and weโll have to wait and see what’s going to be released.
