Key Highlights:
- Battlefield 6โs physical copies have already been released in some regions.
- A lucky player has managed to get their hands on a PS5 version.
- The disc contains the full game, including its single player campaign.
The hype levels surrounding Battlefield 6 are at an all time high, with pre-orders across both console and PC rocking the charts. The game is set to possibly dethrone the mighty Call of Duty franchise as well, in light of Black Ops 7 drawing in a fraction of Battlefield 6โs player count.
Interestingly enough, it would appear that the new Battlefield game has been leaked early, with a lucky console player having access to the full version of the title, complete with the campaign and multiplayer modes.
Battlefield 6 Physical Copies Are Being Distributed Early for Some Players
It is finally in my hands

As seen in the Reddit thread mentioned here, a lucky player has managed to get their hands on a copy of Battlefield 6 nearly 3 days ahead of its official, global launch. The copy in question is the PlayStation 5 version, and appears to have been a completely sealed, untampered unit.
How this player managed to get this copy so early remains a mystery though. However, this can likely be attributed to some mismanagement from the retailer chain, as physical copies arenโt sent out until the launch day.
Physical copies of games are usually stocked up on a few days before the official release, so the whole situation does seem rather plausible here. That being said, this does appear to be an isolated incident, as of the time of writing this article.
Itโs still unknown if the game has made its way to more of the general public yet. As such, it might be best to be wary of spoiler ridden footage being released online, specifically with regard to Battlefield 6โs campaign, the contents of which seem to be kept under tight wraps.
So, What’s Included in the PS5 Disc for Battlefield 6?
As mentioned by OP in the same Reddit post, the PS5 disc for Battlefield 6 includes all of the requisite installation files. In other words, the game disc includes all files you need to play the game, without the need for downloading it off the internet.
The whole game is noted to take approximately 68 gigabytes on the PS5, giving it a surprisingly small digital footprint (relative to titles such as Call of Duty). That being said, this number takes into account the day 0 version of the game – that is, without any subsequent patches and future content drops, which are bound to make the game more bloated.
Interestingly enough, the discโs cover art has a flavor text which indicates that a persistent internet connection is mandatory for playing the game, likely due to the always online nature (of its multiplayer components).

In other words, the disc is likely to be useless until October 10, when the game is officially released to the masses. However, the OP has confirmed that they can access the entirety of the single player campaign, and that multiplayer servers appear to be online (albeit with no one to play with, currently).
If anything though, it’s nice to see some developers ship the entirety of the gameโs files onto a singular Blu-Ray disc. This removes the requirement of having to download all of the gameโs files off the internet, which can be a bit time consuming.
It also means that players can just pop in a disk and play the campaign, and waste little time downloading the files as a result. In an industry where physical media is being killed off slowly, such exceptions are much appreciated.
