Key Highlights:

  • A recent Battlefield 6 leak has unearthed evidence for 6 new maps.
  • The datamine also mentions the presence of naval warfare and combat capable vehicles.
  • More on the exact contents of the leak and more below.

Battlefield 6 has been smashing records lately, growing to be one of the best Battlefield games of all time, far eclipsing the likes of Call of Duty, and most other competitive first person shooters within the market.

Now, it would appear that the dev team at Electronic Arts is far from being done with the game, as a rather recent leak (courtesy of a datamine) seems to suggest the arrival of 6 new maps, along with a few additional goodies.

Battlefield 6 Datamine Hints at 6 New Maps Arriving in the Game Soon

The talented dev team at Electronic Arts isnโ€™t quite done with Battlefield 6 just yet. A recently unearthed datamine (as reported by Insider Gaming) seems to suggest that the game will receive a grand total of 6 new game modes:

  • MUT_Raid
  • MUT_Payload
  • MUT_Sabotage
  • MUT_SquadShootout
  • MUT_Strikepoint
  • MUT_TankHunt

These file names were present in the Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/ folder of the current build of Battlefield 6. In other words, this means that (most of) these game files are already present in the current build, and EA could quite easily deploy them with a simple update.

โ€˜Glacierโ€™ is the codename for Battlefield 6, and going by the file directory, these files do quite obviously seem to be directed toward multiplayer scenarios.

Strikepoint and Sabotage have already been confirmed to be heading to the game on October 28, 2025 and November 18, 2025 respectively – but the inclusion of four additional new maps would be quite the welcome surprise, especially when we take into consideration that Battlefield 6 currently lacks any form of naval warfare.

Make sure to take these bits of information for what they are at face value – leaks, which means that the content on display could change upon release. We also really donโ€™t have a way to predict the exact release date of these maps either, so it might be best to stay tuned for further updates from the official Battlefield channels.

Other Key Points of Interest From the Datamine

These six new maps arenโ€™t the only items of interest unearthed from the recent datamine. For starters, we are very likely to get our hands on a series of vehicles, tailored toward naval warfare.

Naval warfare is notably missing in Battlefield 6, and this could be the perfect way to introduce it into the game. Furthermore, the datamine also mentions the presence of two curious strings of code, which happen to refer to a Jet Ski and a Boat (Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_RHIB and Vehicle_Neutral_Boat_JetSki)

This was preceded by the team at Battlefield acknowledging the need for a naval warfare game mode, right before the gameโ€™s launch.. The team have explicitly mentioned that the player requests โ€˜have not gone unnoticedโ€™.

While this is an exciting new development, it should be noted that the reveal might take longer than anticipated, given how game development crunches go.

The vehicles should also feature a host of weaponry to go along with them, and are noted to be very combat capable. Expect there to be mounted guns and missiles, along with ways to launch a counterattack on enemies as well.

In a way, it’s refreshing to see a big name publisher such as EA take criticism and player feedback to heart, and implement appropriate changes across their game. Battlefield 6 has been phenomenal so far, and is shaping up to leave a lasting legacy, if EA sticks to its guns and keeps delivering on its many promises.
