Xbox Partner Preview: Every Game Announced in March 2026

Summary

  • Xbox Partner Preview March 2026 aired today with 19 games shown, 7 world premieres, and 14 titles confirmed as Xbox Game Pass day-one additions
  • New details dropped for Stranger Than Heaven from RGG Studio, a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 expansion reveal for Summer 2026, and confirmation that Hades 2 is coming to Game Pass
  • Super Meat Boy 3D was another surprise immediate announcement, making its way on March 31, 2026.

Xbox’s fifth Partner Preview just concluded today and delivered broadly what the format promises. Microsoft and partners ran through 19 games spanning world premieres, release date confirmations, and Game Pass day-one announcements.

Here’s what the show actually delivered and where it came up short.

Announcements that Made Headlines

Stranger Than Heaven was the centrepiece and it earned its billing. Developer RGG Studio, which was also the team behind Like a Dragon and Judgement, revealed that the game’s story spans five distinct time periods across five separate cities. The structural ambition alone separates it from anything the studio has done before. More details on the game will be revealed in a dedicated Xbox Presents broadcast on May 6, which means today was a tease rather than a full reveal. But for a game that has shown relatively little since its 2024 announcement, the time-period structure is the most concrete information fans have received.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl gets its first story DLC this Summer. GSC Game World revealed a conflict between the Duty and Freedom factions in the trailer alongside a mix of new and returning locations. The base game launched in late 2024 to strong reception after a prolonged development period, and this is the first significant content expansion GSC has committed to publicly. Summer 2026 is the window.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn from Owlcat Games got a new trailer confirming a Spring 2027 window and a beta starting April 22. The game often draws comparisons to Mass Effect, a third-person action-RPG where players assemble a crew and navigate a solar system in conflict. Whether Owlcat’s systems-heavy RPG background translates well into an action-RPG format is one of the open questions the April beta will start to answer.

The Game Pass Story

A total of 14 day-one Game Pass additions confirmed in a single showcase is the number that matters most for subscribers evaluating what they’re getting. The standouts beyond the above headliners started off with Hades 2 – one of the most acclaimed early access titles of the past two years, which is now confirmed for Game Pass. In addition to this, superhero workplace comedy from AdHoc Studio – Dispatch is also confirmed to arrive this Summer. Wuthering Waves, Kuro Games’ action RPG, is all set to arrive on Xbox in July 2026 as a Game Pass title. All 19 games shown are confirmed Xbox Play Anywhere titles, meaning every purchase carries across seamlessly between PC and consoles.

The most immediate announcement was also the most surprising. Super Meat Boy 3D was released and dated in the premiere and it launches March 31, on Game Pass day one.

The No-Shows Worth Noting

Two games dominated pre-show speculation and neither appeared. A Persona 4 Revival, which was long rumoured to be in development at Atlus for a 2026 reveal, which did not materialise. Neither did the rumoured Witcher 3 DLC that has been circulating since early in the year. Both absences will generate more conversation than most of what actually aired. That is not necessarily a criticism of the show, given how Partner Preview is a third party format and Atlus has no confirmed presence.

Fans and critics alike will now look forward to the next dedicated moment which is May 6, when Xbox given Stranger Than Heaven its own broadcast. This will determine whether the game has been worth the wait since its 2024 announcement.
