Tekken 8’s latest fighter is a surprise, with the strongest creature on Earth aka the Ogre Yujiro Hanma crossing over into the popular fighter in 2027.
A New Challenger Is Arriving In Tekken
One of anime’s โstrongest creatures on earthโ is coming to Tekken. Bandai Namco has revealed Yujiro Hanma from the Baki the Grappler manga series as a new downloadable content, DLC character for Tekken 8 Season 3, with the fighter set to arrive in early 2027.
The announcement arrived alongside a teaser trailer released on Bandai Namco Entertainmentโs official YouTube channel on 25 May, giving fighting game fans a first look at how โThe Ogreโ will enter the Tekken roster. Yujiro will join other characters Kunimitsu, Bob, and Roger Jr., as part of Tekken 8 Season Pass 3.
Who is Yujiro Hanma And How Will He Fit In Tekken?
Yujiro is the main antagonist of Keisuke Itagakiโs manga series, Baki the Grappler series. He is widely known in the series as โThe Ogreโ and โThe Strongest Creature on Earth.โ In the manga, he is a highly paid freelance mercenary and assassin who works for governments and organisations. He possesses overwhelming natural strength and mastery over multiple martial arts styles from birth. Within the series, his power allows him to carry out extreme and bizarre acts without consequence. He is also widely known as the biological father of protagonist Baki Hanma.
Bandai Namcoโs teaser focused heavily on Yujiroโs physical power and signature appearance from the original series. The short trailer placed particular attention on his back muscles, referred to as the โDemon Back,โ alongside the immense force generated from them. The reveal follows several previous guest character additions to the Tekken franchise. Since Tekken 7, the series has included characters such as Akuma, Negan, Geese Howard, Noctis, and Clive.

The Tekken Season 3 Pass is now on sale, offering access to four characters, including Kunimitsu, Bob, Roger Jr., and Yujiro Hanma.

Players who purchase Season Pass 3 will also be able to unlock the SUBSEA LOCKDOWN Stage, as well as gain access to 120 hours of DLC Early Access and an exclusive Season 3 Aurora Outfit costume. Bandai Namco confirmed that Yujiro will join Tekken 8 as a playable character in early 2027. Further updates will be shared closer to the release window.

The Japanese publisher is making good on its promise to continue forging ahead with Tekken 8 following the big loss of franchise series producer Katsuhiro Harada, who left the group in late 2025. Harada is now at Bandai Namco rival SNK, a fierce opponent in the fighting game arena, and has opened a new dev group called VS Studio for SNK.
The future for the Tekken franchise remains unclear, but for now Bandai Namco seems satisfied with things as they currently, and Tekken 8 sold around the 4 million copies. No info has been confirmed or revealed about a fourth season pass for Tekken 8, but it seems likely because the previous game had four collections of post-launch DLC.
