PlayStation recently announced its State of Play event for today, in what appears to be yet

another โ€˜surpriseโ€™ announcement, days into the Tokyo Games Show (TGS) of 2025. While the reveal was already anticipated and leaked prior, there is still a lot we just donโ€™t know yet.

That being said, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming PlayStation State of Play for September 25, 2025 including its start times, where to watch the, and its many, many expected reveals.

PlayStation September 2025 State of Play Start Date and Time

The State of Play for September 2025 is set to begin tomorrow. That is, the 24th of September. The event will begin exactly at 2 PM Pacific Time/PT (or at 5 PM Eastern Time/ET and 11 PM CEST).

As time zones are a thing, expect there to be differences in the actual release time, depending on your region and locale. This is a pre-recorded broadcast, so donโ€™t expect any last minute changes either.

Where to Watch the State of Play Broadcast for September 2025

The State of Play for September 24, 2025 will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel for PlayStation, linked below.

While the event is expected to last for approximately an hour, do note that there may be unforeseen delays to the pre-planned schedule due to unavoidable factors. That being said, the chances of this happening are quite slim if weโ€™re being honest here.

Expected Announcements and Reveals for the State of Play in September 2025

Sonyโ€™s State of Play is expected to bring with it quite a few reveals, but some details have already surfaced online. The most prominent of these reveals is expected to be none other than Marvelโ€™s Wolverine.

Wolverine is a brand new game being developed by Insomniac Games, the creators of Marvelโ€™s Spider-Man series. As the name suggests, this will be a standalone title featuring the comic book character Wolverine, and is set in the same universe as the Spider-Man games.

Expect there to be a new trailer showcased during the event.

Certain other rumors also point to a new, mainline God of War game being in development at Santa Monica Studios. While a full God of War game might just take a bit longer to cook, we could expect a surprise appearance of a 2.5D, Metroidvania title instead.

As far as other titles go, we should see Saros making an appearance. This action adventure title is being developed by Housemarque and is set to release in 2026 for the PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. Information on the game is quite scarce at the moment, but this could all change during the State of Play, where it is expected to showcase a long trailer.

One of 2024โ€™s surprise hits, Stelar Blade might also be making an appearance during this monthโ€™s State of Play event. Shift Up has previously shared a rather cryptic post on X that something โ€˜majorโ€™ was going to take place this week, which perfectly coincides with the State of Play. This could be a collaboration of sorts, albeit on a much smaller scale.

Other than the usual big budget AAA releases, PlayStation is also expected to promote a few indie games. This is par for the course, and we should have a few welcome surprises here too, such as a final roster announcement for Marvel Tokon, a sprite based fighting game being developed by Arc System Works.
