Key Highlights:
- Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is perhaps the most anticipated title after Marvelโs Spider-Man 2.
- The game was announced nearly 4 years ago.
- New leaks have emerged online for the now delayed title.
Few game reveals have made an impact on the Marvel video game universe as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. Itโs been nearly 4 years since Marvel Entertainment and Skydance New Media teamed up to announce the title, which featured remarkable, life-like visuals.
The hype levels for the game were through the roof, and stood to only be rivaled by Insomniac Gamesโ Marvelโs Spider-Man 2. However, some rather disappointing news for Rise of Hydra has emerged online, which hints that players might need to wait even longer.
Marvel 1942: Rise of Hydra Is Delayed to 2026
Skydance Gamesโ Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been unfortunately delayed to early 2026. This was conveyed via an official blog post from Skydance Games themselves, which mentioned that the game was taking a bit longer to add in some polish.
In other words, the game isnโt ready for retail release just yet. The team likely needs some time to clean up the gameโs performance and visual presentation, as it’s speculated.

This delays the potential release date of the game by an additional year, but Rise of Hydra could make an appearance during either the rumored State of Play (PlayStation), or during Geoff Keighleyโs The Game Awards of 2025.
The game has yet to receive a proper, gameplay trailer for that matter either. Everything weโve seen so far has involved pre-rendered sequences, and is not indicative of real world gameplay.
The game is built on top of the Unreal Engine 5 game engine, so at the very least, it should look quite amazing. This does bring with a few legitimate performance concerns along the way though.
Everything We Know About the Recent Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Leaks
The recent leak for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra seems to have put all doubts of there being a real, visually stunning game behind the pre-rendered trailers to rest.
As per MP1ST, this material comes courtesy of a developer who has worked on the game before, back between 2022 to 2023. This means that the footage is over 2 years old at this point, and a lot has likely changed between the current playable build and the one seen in the footage mentioned earlier.
That being said, even in its alpha build, the game appears to be quite immersive, showcasing realistic physics, smart enemy AI behavior and acceptable visuals. Itโs still development material though, so donโt go expecting everything shown here to be present in the retail build.
What Is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra About?
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an action adventure game from Skydance New Media and Platon, and is set to be released for current gen consoles and PCs sometime in 2026. The game is set during World War II, and has Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Black Panther (Azzuri or TโChalla) team up to stop the rise of Hydra, a nefarious terrorist organization.
The game is based on the 2010 Marvel Comics run featuring a crossover between Captain America and Black Panther, titled โFlags of Our Fathersโ. The game will be set in Axis occupied Paris during the course of World War II, and will likely feature a sequence of events that shape the history of the world.
There havenโt been any official gameplay reveals yet, which had many wondering if the game would ever come out. Hopefully, these leaks should serve to put the question to rest.
