Fortnite has made a statement letting players know that they can freely request a refund of the D4vd items that were previously made available in-game as a result of the singer’s recent arrest and alleged crimes.
Fortnite To Refund D4vd Items
In response to singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, being charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years old and mutilating human remains, Epic Games, the parent company of free-to-play live-service shooter Fortnite, has announced that players can seek an automatic refund for previously-sold items related to the musician.
Initially, Shiina reported on the possibility that refunds could be on the way, something that Epic Games later outright confirmed, including an incoming update that should make it even easier to request one.

The update, which is slated for April 28, will allow players to request an immediate self-service refund. For now, those who’ve requested one via Fortnite‘s support page will receive one. For now, it does not appear that Fortnite is outright refunding all customers, meaning that there will be players who undoubtedly keep the digital items in their lockers.

Some players obtained these items through a bundled offer in the Fortnite Item Shop. At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether D4vdโs Locker Bundle is being fully refunded, as it also included cosmetics not tied to the artist, such as the Camille skin.
Epic Games has since indicated that refunds apply to any D4vd cosmetic that has been purchased, though further clarification on bundled content has not been detailed.
How do Fortnite players get a refund for D4vd items?
Players who own D4vd cosmetics can already request refunds through Epic Games player support. From 28 April, a self-service refund option will be introduced, allowing players to process eligible refunds instantly without submitting a ticket. The cosmetics affected include the Feel It and Trophy Drop emotes, along with the What Are You Waiting For and Locked and Loaded Jam Tracks, all of which have been at the centre of player concerns.
Fortnite Collaborated With D4vd On A Few Things
In 2025, Fortnite collaborated with the singer on Locked & Loaded, an anthem for the popular title that was then sold as a Jam Track. The Jam Track has not been sold since Sept. 11, 2025. Similarly, the song What Are You Waiting For was also sold as a Jam Track. It was released on April 25, 2025, and has not been seen in the shop since Sept. 8.

Finally, a “Locker Bundle” was sold between April 25 and May 1, 2025. The bundle did not have any specific D4vd cosmetics, instead bundling some of his favourite items into one collection. Many of those items have since been sold again and will continue to do so as they don’t have any branding.
