Binding of Isaac Set to Arrive in Fortnite Soon

Key Highlights:

  • Fortnite might have a surprise collaboration with Binding of Issac.
  • The event brings with it cosmetics and a few in-game items.
  • This is one of the rarer moments where Fortnite has collaborated with indies.

Fortnite routinely holds collaboration events from time to time, crossing over with popular existing IPs. These IPs range from well regarded AAA blockbusters to more niche indie titles, which serves as a way to generate exposure for both parties.

As per recent leaks, the Binding of Issac is the newest game to receive a collaboration event in Fortnite, and will feature emotes, cosmetics, and a few fun little easter eggs. Itโ€™s certainly a rather intriguing collaboration, and there may just be more than meets the eye at first glance.

Binding of Issac X Fortnite Collaboration Event Details Leak Online

Released originally on September 28, 2011 for PCs, the Binding of Issac is one of the more charming and unique indie games out there. The game was created by independent developers Florian Himsl and Edmund McMillen, loosely based on the Binding of Issac, a Biblical story.

The game has since proven to be very popular, gaining a near cult like status thanks to its unique presentation and usage of roguelike, procedurally generated levels. Still, its collaboration with what is arguably the most popular Battle Royale of all time is quite the unexpected development.

Popular Fortnite dataminer ShiinaBR, who is known to have a pretty good track record at โ€˜predictingโ€™ major upcoming events in Fortnite, shared information about this upcoming event. The collaboration will see the addition of a variety of cosmetics to the game, including a Pickaxe (mentioned to be either a Wire Coat Hanger or Momโ€™s Knife, although the possibility of the Coat Hanger appearing is quite slim).

Other additions include a special event exclusive emote (TV with flies surrounding it), an Issac โ€˜back blingโ€™, and a few more cute interactions with Issac (such as Issac crying and getting excited when dealt damage and opening chests, respectively).

All the mentioned cosmetics will be available to purchase from a singular bundle, which is kind of the norm for Fortnite collaborations these days. Buying from a bundle also lets you save a significant amount of V-Bucks in the process.

Game creator Edmund McMillen has appeared to have confirmed the same in a post on TikTok, mere minutes after the announcement from Shiina. If anything, this all but officially confirms the legitimacy of these leaks, and we might have official news soon.

Dates are still not confirmed just yet though, but it is nice to see Fortnite bring about collaboration events with indie titles too.

Fortnite Has Been Pumping Out Quite a Few Collaborations Lately

This isnโ€™t the first leak shared by Shiina, and it most certainly wonโ€™t be the last. The leaker had previously correctly predicted the reveals of multiple Fortnite events, and has rarely skipped a beat.

Shiina has also predicted reveals for upcoming collaborations, such as those with the Silent Hill series, Sonic and more. While we donโ€™t have any official confirmation on these just yet, Fortnite has never shied away from big flashy events.

Perhaps the biggest collaboration event in recent years was with Star Wars, where players had access to entirely new maps and a rather controversial AI-powered Darth Vader that went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Leaks also suggest that Fortnite could be having a major crossover with The Simpsons next, following the style of the previously mentioned Star Wars event. This means that there will be new maps, cosmetics and perhaps even a few more unexpected surprises. Still, itโ€™s nice to see Fortnite branch out once in a while.
