Capcom has officially unveiled the Year 4 lineup for Street Fighter 6, sending waves of excitement through the fighting game community. Four new fighters will join the roster over the coming year, headlined by the highly rumoured collaboration of Final Fantasy VII’s Tifa Lockhart as an official guest character being confirmed.

This massive reveal follows right on track of a successful Year 3 for the game, which recently wrapped up after bringing back fan-favourites like Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex, alongside the cosmic code holder, Ingrid. While the full move lists and official release dates are still under wraps, this crossover marks a thrilling new chapter for the franchise.

The Rumors Were True: Tifa Comes to Metro City Of Street Fighter 6

As many fans predicted, Capcom announced its next year of content for Street Fighter 6 during Geoff Keighley’s annual Summer Game Fest showcase. This comes as no surprise, since Capcom always brings a major presence to these events to show off its biggest franchises. However, this year’s reveal felt much more toned down than in the past. Last summer, the studio teamed up with AEW wrestling star Kenny Omega for a massive Year 3 trailer. This time fans got a much shorter video that was a stylized animated art for each character rather than a full fledged, live-action production.

Despite this presentation, the recent internet rumours proved absolutely true. Capcom officially confirmed that Tifa Lockhart from Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII is joining the fight in Year 4. The reveal trailer gave a clever story to how this impossible crossover happened. It teased the cosmic entity Ingrid using one of her magical doors to pull Tifa directly into the Capcom universe. While the news has sent a wave of excitement through the community, players will still need some patience, as Tifa is currently scheduled to arrive as the final character of the pass in early 2027.

Meet the Rest of the Roster For Year 4: Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch

Tifa is certainly the headliner of this group, Capcom is mixing things up with its other three additions. While the previous Street Fighter 6 rumour seemingly indicated the other characters joining her would be Vega, Gouken, and Mike Haggar, that did not happen. Instead, Capcom shockingly added 2 brand-new characters, Yasmine and Arjun. Yasmine will be kicking off the fourth year of content on August 3, with Arjun launching second during the Autumn months. While there are not many details for these newcomers, Arjun appears to utilize wind and Yasmine has a curved knife.

Finally, the last character to join Street Fighter 6 is Bosch, scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. Fans may remember Bosch as an important NPC in Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode, originally positioned as the player’s rival, who then gets wrapped up into the bigger events of the mode’s narrative. With a massive roster of legacy characters yet to come in Street Fighter 6.

The choice to add Bosch is an interesting one as Street Fighter 6’s World Tour Mode appears to be ending. While every DLC character added to the game so far has also been included in World Tour as a possible master that the player can train from, Ingrid was confirmed to be the final addition. Capcom is ending support for the mode, so players shouldn’t expect to see any of the Year 4 characters get new content added for them in World Tour.
