Sony is finally holding a new State of Play in this June with showcasing new games, trailers, news and more. The event will also be highlighting a highly anticipated title.
Where And When Can You Watch Sony State Of Play 2026
The event will air on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 10 p.m. BST / 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT. It will last over an hour, featuring announcements and gameplay from the world leading studios. You can watch the event live on YouTube and Twitch.
More of Marvel’s Wolverine Confirmed to Be Seen At at Sony SOP June 2026
Marvel’s Wolverine was originally announced with a brief teaser trailer that showed Logan in Madripoor. In September 2025, a lengthy cinematic trailer was shown, with Wolverine facing off against Omega Red and a Sentinel, hinting that the story would involve a globe-hopping adventure, one with plenty of fights against classic X-Men villains.
Fans have been nervous that Marvel’s Wolverine might be pushed out of its September 15 release date, due to the lack of new footage released by Insomniac Games. Those fears have now been dismissed, as the official PlayStation Twitter/X account has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will have a significant appearance at the next State of Play, which will take place on June 2, 2026.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Be Announced With A Trailer At Sony SOP
It is still an unannounced reveal that got players excited. Earlier this week, leaker Tidux teased fans with an X post reading: “SOP- HL2 Soon™”

The post hints towards Hogwarts Legacy 2, and now that we know that the timing of State of Play could not be better. PlayStation’s next showcase is scheduled for June 2, 2026 and goes live at 2 pm PT. It will go on for around an hour, which gives plenty of opportunity to tease the next Hogwarts Legacy game. Fans have high hopes that the sequel to the wizardry title will be a part of the showcase. However, if that is not the case, then there is the next best timing for showcasing the game would be Summer Game Fest which is later that month, or even Gamescom’s Opening Night Live show in August.
What Other Games Will Be Featured In the June 2026 SOP?
Other than Marvel’s Wolverine, Sony have not confirmed any other PlayStation 5 games for June’s SOP. Sony’s first party studio have a number of announced games in the works, like Santa Monica Studio’s God of War trilogy remake, Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Hunters Gathering. Sony is also rumoured to be working on a new God of War spinoff game and a modern version of the Infamous franchise.
The most recent State of Play was in February and featured third-party games like Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Beast of Reincarnation, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, Silent Hill: Downfall, Project Windless, 4:Loop, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. While PlayStation fans should not expect major updates on every one of those titles, there is a good chance we get another look at them or some confirmed release dates.
Fans are obviously hoping for a Grand Theft Auto 6 appearance, as well as a look at the third entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. Though Rockstar could easily just drop a Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer tomorrow and get a billion views without this event.
