Key Highlights:
- Copies of Resident Evil Requiem have been released into the wild.
- This is nearly a week before the gameโs official release date.
- Spoilers will no doubt flood the internet soon, so be careful.
The upcoming Resident Evil 9, Requiem seems to have already broken its release date, with multiple copies being available out in the wild. Weโve seen some pretty wild leaks that detail more on the campaign before, its setting and of course, more Leon.
That being said, hereโs what it realistically means for interested players, and hereโs more on how to avoid spoiler territory while navigating the interwebs.
Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Copies Leak Early

As seen across multiple social media channels, including Reddit, the physical copies for Resident Evil Requiem have already been released out in the wild, with these lucky few players having a sort of โearly accessโ to the title.
Of particular note here is the Switch 2 version of the game, which also seems to have leaked (despite being a game key card only title). There was a person who was streaming the game a while back, but that seems to have been taken down by Capcom.

Of note here is the fact that this was the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, and the user managed to nab a few items, including a photo of Spencer, and a Claire charm with her Resident Evil 2 outfit intact.
This rather early gameplay takes place in the hospital, and from what weโve seen the player hasnโt delved too deep into spoiler territory just yet. Regardless, stay wary of spoilers on the internet.
Resident Evil Requiem Director Responds To The Leaks
Almost the entirety of Resident Evil Requiem has been leaked online, thanks to some confused retailers releasing physical copies a bit too early. The entire campaign, from start to finish has been uploaded, but I’m pretty sure the leakers have just glossed over the side/optional content in a bid to speedrun through the ending instead.

The situation got so bad that Capcom had to issue an official statement on social media. Translated, the statement mentions that Capcom will take necessary action against individuals who upload such content.
Since then, Capcom has been on the offensive, deleting entire videos off the internet. While there are some spoilers, you’ll have to go out of your way to find them.

Resident Evil 2 director Hideki Kamiya also chimed in with the same intent, going on to mention that this was a detestable act that ‘deserved a thousand deaths’.
Not Too Long, Now
Resident Evil Requiem officially releases on February 27, 2026. With just under 2 days to spare, you can certainly stay wary of spoilers online. The game looks to be quite fantastic so far (judging by the trailers and gameplay footage), so it should be worth the wait.
Make sure to not click on that spurious link or tempting clickbaity thumbnail, and you should be fine, mostly.
