Dying Light 2 Review - Times of Games

The Polish company that has given us the series Dead Island, Call of Juarez, and Dying Light recently announced that it is preparing two new games. As stated in an interview with the CEO of the company, Pawel Marchewka, one will be developed by the company's studio in Warsaw and will be an open-world fantasy game with RPG elements, with co-op and single-player modes.

Marchewka clarified that this game will not be a purebred RPG, however, these elements will be more intense than in Dying LightAs to whether it would be a continuation of the development of Hellraid, which has been suspended for the time being, the answer was no. It was reported, however, that the latter is still on the shelf and Techland is still thinking of ways to continue its development, as discussions are underway for another sequel to the Call of Juarez series.

No specific information has been given about the second game, but it is interesting that the development will be undertaken by the Wroclaw development company that gave us Dying LightWhen Marchewka was asked directly whether this game would be a sequel to the successful Zombie survival, he refused (smiling) to answer. Asked if the company will return to the Dead Island franchise (beyond the release of the Definitive Collection ), he answered in the negative because, as he characteristically stated, Dying Light is more important at the moment. Besides, together with the expansion "The Following", they number over eight million purchases, which shows the great success of the series.

The company's two games are expected to be released within the next three years. Dead Island: Definitive Collection is released on May 31 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

[UPDATE: 11/6/18 - The sequel was officially announced] Techland presented the sequel of Dying Light during the Microsoft press conference at E3 2018.

With more zombies and options that will have an impact on the script, Dying Light 2 was announced. In the sequel we will see even bigger threats and improvements in the graphics.

Polish development company Techland has announced that it will present more details about Dying Light 2 in a few days.

The development company, through a post on Twitter, confirmed that it will reveal information about the Dying Light sequel on Wednesday, March 17th. We do not know yet who it is, but Techland has a long time to share news of Dying Light 2 and it is most likely to announce its release date or period. Dying Light 2 was announced at E3 2018 with a release period in 2020, but Techland postponed its release.

Techland, the developer of Dying Light 2revealed in a recent interview the duration of its upcoming Survival Horror FPS.

The duration will be similar to the first Dying Light, which was released in 2015. In a discussion with Wccftech, lead designer Tymon Smektala said that the duration of the game will also depend on the style and ability of each player. Smektala also estimated the duration of Dying Light 2 in hours, offering a more realistic estimate of its duration.

According to Smektala: “If you are in a hurry, you should be able to finish the main story in about 20 hours. But to see it all, you need to spend 2 to 3 times more time than that. The introductory area alone can take over 7-8 hours if you want to explore every corner of it, so there is plenty of content. ” Smektala's estimates may make the game sound extensive, but the sizes are indeed proportional to its predecessor. Dying Light takes about 17 hours to complete, with the various side quests significantly increasing the time required. Although not all players are expected to spend more than 50 hours exploring it, there is an option for those who wish.

The lead designer of Dying Light 2 was also asked about the game's dynamic encounters and whether they will be similar to those of Red Dead Redemption 2. Smektala confirmed that Dying Light 2 will have narrative-driven encounters, which will accompany the main plot of the game, saying: “Absolutely! There are many stories in the world of Dying Light 2. We stuck to this part of the game, as we wanted to use it as something more than its basic narrative. We introduced them relatively recently, about the second half of last year, and they added a lot of life and vibrancy to our world. ”

Dying Light 2 will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S in 2021.
