Key Highlights:
- Hideo Kojima recently unveiled a teaser for his next game, OD.
- The title will be published by Xbox Game Studios.
- OD is a horror game, drawing some parallels to the Silent Hills/PT demo.
Itโs hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Kojima Productions was first founded. Led by none other than the legendary Hideo Kojima himself, the game production company held its 10 year anniversary event in a special stream moments ago.
The stream went on to showcase a lot of things, including a sneak peek at โODโ, a game that was announced years ago, being published by Xbox Game Studios. OD appears to be a horror game of sorts, and brings with it the same vibes as that of the (unfortunately) canned Silent Hills title from Konami.
Kojima Productions Debuts Its First Teaser Trailer for โOD’
As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Kojima Productions unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for โODโ, which was announced to be knee deep in development back in 2024, during the events of The Game Awards.
A lot of time has progressed since then, and we have known painfully little about the gameโs setting, development and cast. Things did change though, when a brand new trailer titled โOD – Knockโ was unveiled today.
The โKnockโ trailer showcases some rather cryptic and spooky segments, including a few areas where the action seems to bleed into reality. In fact, OD is being designated as a horror game, and has several โlayers of fearโ.
This is remarkably similar to another of Kojimaโs (now cancelled) projects. That is, the Silent Hills game, which was unceremoniously canned by Konami for reasons unknown.
Silent Hills was set to be a brand new Silent Hill game, bringing together the talents of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro into the mix. The game even had a short, โplayable teaserโ (P.T.) released for the PS4, which was subsequently taken down.

The effect of P.T. on the industry was massive, as players and critics both hailed the short demo, impressed with what they saw (and hoping for more to come along the way). It also resulted in a series of clones being released, with Resident Evil 7 Biohazard being the most notable of them all.
Thereโs a lot in common with OD and P.T. outside of the whole horror theme, and it will most certainly be interesting to witness what Kojima has planned for us, when the game is ready.
OD is built on top of Unreal Engine 5 (instead of the in house Decima Engine), and looks fantastic so far. Itโs also backed by Xbox Game Studios, featuring performances from Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and others.
Physint, an Action-Espionage Game Was Also Announced
Kojima isnโt done laying his action espionage roots to rest just yet. Despite being separated from Konami (and the Metal Gear series), it’s clear that his current work draws in a ton of inspiration from MGS.
Death Stranding 2, for example, featured action espionage baked into the game, and played more like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in this regard.
With that in mind, Kojima also recently announced โPhysintโ, a PlayStation title being developed by Kojima Productions. The game is still in its conceptual and development stages though, so don’t go expecting gameplay footage any time soon.
All we have so far is a look at the gameโs protagonist, featured in a poster, and 3 confirmed roles. The game will feature Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe for now, but there should be more collaborations revealed soon.
The game is described as โaction-espionageโ, which means that there will be a clear focus on stealth gameplay, like the MGS series.
