Fortnite fans are getting closer to the gameโs next big seasonal change, as Epic Games keeps dropping hints about whatโs coming in for Chapter 7 Season 4. The next season is expected to run on a gaming theme, with leaks pointing to several classic franchises joining Fortnite. While leaks have already teased the arrival of several gaming icons, Epic Games is now giving players even bigger clues through the key art for the upcoming Story Event.
The Story Event runs this weekend, ahead of the season change on August 20. The Story Eventโs key art has really gained playersโ attention because it contains direct references to two big gaming franchises i.e. Tetris and Crash Bandicoot. These visual references line up with the recent leaks about the season, making it seem even more likely that Epic Games is planning to bring several classic gaming names right into Fortnite.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Key Art Teases Tetris
If you look at the right side of the Story Event art, youโll spot one of the most obvious references of blocks falling down, which strongly resemble the iconic Tetris shapes. Tetris had already been linked to the season in earlier leaks, and its appearance in official promotional art carries more weight than a datamine. Epic appears to be signalling the crossover itself rather than leaving it to leaks.
Now, exactly how Tetris could be used in Fortnite isnโt clear yet. The franchise doesnโt really have a headline character they can turn into an outfit or skin. The blocks could become a map feature, a limited-time mechanic, or an event set piece. Whatever the case, the reference is there, and for now, fans have the strongest visual clue yet that somethingโs up with Tetris in Chapter 7 Season 4.

Crash Bandicoot Reference Adds Another Major Hint
That same section of the artwork seems to contain another reference to Crash Bandicoot. Among the bushes, thereโs an orange block with a yellow question mark painted on it, which looks a lot like the trademark crates from the Crash Bandicoot series. It adds to a growing list of gaming references ahead of Season 4. Crash Bandicootโs name has already been mentioned in previous leaks, so its appearance in official art reads as quiet confirmation of what leaks already suggested.

Thereโs yet another question among fans, – how would Crash Bandicoot fit into Fortnite? Given the characterโs size, he might show up as a Sidekick instead of a full skin, but nothingโs official yet. Itโs one way Epic could add the franchise without forcing Crash into a typical Fortnite outfit. Crash is not the only recent gaming reference. The Wonkeeland POI used to feature Pac-Manโs iconic music, though that was removed later. Even so, it points to a next season filled with gaming crossovers. With Tetris, Crash Bandicoot, and Pac-Man all tied to recent teasers or leaks, the Fortnite community is eager to see what Epic Games unveils next.

What Happens Before the August 20 Season Change
All these teasers matter because Fortniteโs next season starts August 20. Before that, Epic is preparing for the latest Story Event, designed to bridge the gap between this season and whatever comes next in Fortniteโs story. Chapter 7 Season 4 is expected to be the final full-length season of the year, which gives the upcoming season additional importance, especially with the focus on gaming legends and some famous franchises.

Players can check out the Story Event this weekend and get a sneak peek at how Epic is setting up the new season. The hints in the key art suggest that some crossover content may be part of the eventโs main storyline. Meanwhile, Fortniteโs current OG season continues, giving players another option while the main game prepares for its big Chapter 7 Season 4 launch. The two versions are running side by side, with August 20 marked as the start of the next main chapter.
