- Xbox Game Pass team up with discord soon based on what Asha Sharma hinted.
- Changes to Xbox Game Pass prices have been made across pc and on console.
- How this team up might work based on previous team up info.
After the info on price drop changes coming and now in effect from 22 April and COD being pulled from the pass, we might see something on top of this as well. A Xbox and Discord team up for the game pass.
Xbox Game Pass Gets Price Drop
Xbox Game Pass is now less expensive. In response to lots of negative feedback, Microsoft has cut the price of Xbox Game Pass and announced that Call of Duty titles will no longer be included with the service at launch going forward. Lowering the price of Game Pass and removing new Call of Duty releases were two of the dramatic changes that Microsoft was reported to have been mulling.

Effective immediately, Game Pass Ultimate is now $23/month (down from $30/month), while PC Game Pass is now $14/month (down from $16.50/month). Existing members will see the new rates applied to their accounts starting April 22, but anyone who signs up today will get in for the lower prices. Game Pass Essential ($10/month) and Game Pass Premium ($15/month) are staying the same price going forward. These tiers do not include day-one new releases. The Game Pass price hike up to $30/month was announced in October 2025, and it was heavily criticized at the time.
Sharma also personally killed off the “This Is An Xbox” marketing campaign as one of her first moves as the new boss at Xbox.
Code In The Wild

“For years, Xbox and Discord have worked together to make it easier for players to connect, chat, and play across devices,” Sharma wrote on Twitter. “We’re teaming up again as we continue to make Game Pass more flexible for our players. Some of you might start to see code in the wild, and we will share more details with you all soon!”. Code in the wild is an interesting turn of phrase, and truth be told, It is not entirely certain what to make of it. Perhaps it most probably refers to rollouts on whatever this initiative proves to be, which could hit some subscribers’ inboxes ahead of others’.

Right now, Microsoft’s partnership includes offers for a free month’s worth of Discord Nitro to Game Pass subscribers. Which is cool, but something more advanced might be far nicer. If Game Pass turns into more of a pick-and-choose package, then having in a monthly Nitro membership would be great action. It’s hard to say what exactly Sharma and the rest of the Xbox teams have in mind here, but hopefully, it’ll be compelling.
Wrapping Up

Discord has long served as gaming’s #1 communication platform. Millions flock to it to talk about games on dedicated servers, to host tournaments and plan MMO raids, and above all, to hop into voice chat with other players. It’s become pretty darned synonymous with the industry, so if Game Pass is going to include Discord’s premium-priced Nitro service as a potential ticker item, that’d be a great get. Or maybe it’s something else entirely.
