- Leaks of a brand new Gen 10 Pokemon
- What this pokemon’s typing and design be like.
- When can we expect Pokemon Winds and Waves to release.
A brand new leak claims to reveal the general design and typing of a brand new Gen 10 Pokemon for Pokemon Winds and Waves. If true, this would be the first brand new critter known, except for the Pokemon Winds and Waves starters: the Grass-type Browt, the Water-type Gecqua, and the Fire-type Pombon
BallGuy’s Insight On the New Leak
All Pokemon Winds and Waves rumors and leaks live and die by their source, so it’s worth highlighting that the source for this leak, the Twitter user known as BallGuy, isn’t historically the most reliable leaker. Ahead of Pokemon Gen 10’s proper reveal, however, BallGuy did lend credence to a 4chan post that accurately described the starters. A lot of false rumors were being spread at that time, so either BallGuy was lucky or had some insider information.

- Water/Flying Type
- Fish-Bird Crossover
According to BallGuy, one of the more basic and widespread Pokemon of the Gen 10 region is a Water/Flying fish-with-wings Pokemon. The shared image isn’t the new Pokemon, of course, but gives an idea of the Pokemon in Gold and Silver version of the design. Before then, a similar concept was also explored for the Kanto region. Past games have brought back, repurposed, or reimagined scrapped designs from previous games, like Shellos and Gastrodon, Hydeigon, Tirtouga, and the Ultra Beasts.
Many Pokemon fans have already dubbed this the “Both” Pokemon, given that it represents the motifs of both Pokemon Winds (flying/wings) and Waves (Water-type/Fish).
New Pokemon Design May Return in Pokemon Winds and Waves
It remains to be seen when fans will learn more, but they could be in for a serious wait. Pokemon Winds and Waves will release in 2027, and assuming they are early 2027 releases for the Nintendo Switch 2, it seems possible that fans will learn more about the next games later this year. However, BallGuy claims differently. He claims that he doesn’t anticipate “any information to be revealed for the remainder of the year at this time.” Assuming this statement is true, it remains possible that plans change ahead of release, as the gears of the gaming industry are constantly moving.

On the other hand, it also would suggest that Pokemon Winds and Waves have a later 2027 release date. Marketing for Pokemon games hasn’t changed in quite some time, even if the past few generations have been incredibly leaky ahead of release. The past few generations have revealed the Legendary Pokemon in Trailer 2, meaning the box art Legendary Pokemon for Winds and Waves is expected to be released in Trailer 2. Fans might have to wait until Pokemon Day 2027 for that if Ballguy’s claims are true, but it’s worth noting that there are leaked details on them as well.

Originating from Riddler Khu, a generally more reliable leaker, the general design and motif for Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ Box Art Legendries are described as “Wind Grandpa” and “Wave Grandma.” How these Legendries (and the Water/Flying fish-with-wings Pokemon) compare to these leaks remains to be seen, but hopefully official news comes sooner rather than later.
When Can We Expect To Get Try The Game

Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves are scheduled for a global release in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2. Announced on February 27, 2026, for the franchise’s 30th anniversary, these Generation X titles are expected to launch late in 2027, although some leaks suggest it could be earlier. The games will feature an open-world adventure with a focus on coastal environments.
