Overwatch has officially revealed the trailer for Sierra, the new damage hero coming in Reign of Talon Season 2 on April 14. She is the sixth hero to arrive in 2026, and the 51st playable hero in Overwatch overall.
History of Overwatch 2
Overwatch is a free to play team based hero shooter made by Blizzard, where two teams of 5 player each side, compete to complete specific objectives on vibrant global maps. Unlike traditional shoot where everyone has the same weapons, Overwatch features a massive roster of 50 unique heroes, each with their own specialized abilities and ultimate powers.
Overwatch released back in 2016, but has recently undergone a major rebranding naming itself Overwatch 2. It is available on all major Platforms like PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. When Overwatch announced its massive relaunch for 2026 it shadow dropped five heroes in Reign of Talent season one and promised another playable character in every subsequent season. On March 31st Overwatch will reveal the character who would be arriving in season 2 on April 14th, although not much beyond her appearance was revealed.
New Hero Coming in Overwatch 2 Reign Of Talon
Overwatch has finally given fans a first glimpse at this new character. Sierra is an athletic captain who works for Helix Security. In her hero trailer “Summit Break” Sierra team ups Overwatch to prevent Talon from stealing something from Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. She comes face to face with Emre, using her drone and weapon to defeat him. Unfortunately Overwatch Reign of Talon Season One Hero’s Override kicks in, forcing Sierra to fallback. Freja then arrives, catches Sierra with her Bola Shot and extracts Emre and the payload.
Sierra’s Abilities And Weapons
While Sarah’s full ability kit hasn’t been revealed yet, the trailer has given fans a pretty good idea of how she will play. The damage hero has a repeating pulse rifle similar to Sojon in Overwatch. However instead of a charged railgun shot, Sierra can launch a Violet spike that sticks to enemy, which could be her ultimate. This projectile causes her attacks to lock in on the enemy and seems to explode either after a certain duration or once the target takes enough damage. Sierra can grapple to a flying drone and has the ability to reveal targets, suggesting she may the Recon sub-roll.
Fans won’t have to wait long to learn exactly how Sierra operates in Overwatch, her gameplay trailer is currently scheduled for April 9 which will show her in game model and how she works. Gamers can expect a detailed breakdown of her weapon’s and ultimate perks along with the trailer. A motion comic for Sierra is also planned for release on April 13th, the day before her debut in Overwatch for Reign of Talent season 2.
Players can expect this comic to go back in Sierra’s back story, including how she joined Helix Security and how she learned to control her Recon drone, noted by her own voice actor the trailer for season two is also scheduled the same day which will reveal more information about what’s coming in the update, besides Sarah Overwatch Reign of Talon season two includes a remodel of Andran’s face, an Antarctic Peninsula map rework, a switch to port, and possibly even a story meta event pertaining to the Grand Mesa operation as seen in the new Heroes trailer.
Overwatch 2 Season 2: Reign of Talon is scheduled to launch on Tuesday April 14 2026, With the new DPS Hero, new content, new map updates like stronger turret editions are planned for various game modes, and general hero updates with their updated looks, improved presence for the Hero Anran. Be sure to finish the current Season One Battle Pass before April 14th, as those rewards will no longer be available once Season 2 begins.
