The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a massive open world action RPG where you play as Gerald of Rivia who is a witcher or a professional monster hunter for hire. He has been mutated and trained from childhood to have superpower strength speed and magical ability. But what’s interesting about the new Witcher 3 online update, find out below.
What is Witcher 3 Online mode
It’s online mod for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt which allows to play in one server with multiple other people or friends and interact with them travel across lands and just have a good time in general. The idea of ditching the experience of a single player solitude of playing The Witcher 3 alone and running around in a world with a small crew of seems like a nice way to spend some time for some players.
New Features in Online Mod 2.0
The online mod has received its 2.0 update, transforming the mod into a more MMO like experience. Now the mod supports item trading, customizable horses, new emotes, and other feature upgrades. With the addition of horse sync and boat sync, players can now ride the same horse or boat together. Additionally players can now ride on each other’s shoulders, which gives players a new way to travel. With better sync than before, players can now also transform into animals, letting them explore The Witcher 3’s world in a new way. Customizable horses appearances are also available for experiencing.
One of the biggest changes with The Witcher 3 Online 2.0 update is its full client and server rewrite. The mod’s server architecture has been rewritten, replacing TCP with UDP. What you can and cannot do In Witcher Online
With The Witcher Online, player will be able to complete full prey throughs of The Witcher 3 together. However it is worth noting that only player location and animations are synced. While your friend can complete the same battle/encounter at the same time as you, they may not necessarily have the same world State or NPC locations. This means that they will not be able to fight your enemies. You may be fighting together, but you will be battling alone.
Since Quests NPCS and World States are not synced it is recommended that players enter cutscenes and complete objectives simultaneously. Additionally, choosing identical dialog options is also recommended that said players are free to play together with un-synced save files without risk of save file corruption or other issues after all only player locations and movements are synced with this mod.
How you can play The Witcher online
While this mod won’t suddenly turn The Witcher 3 into an MMO, it does create a new and exciting way to play one of the best PC RPGs that is out there. To use this mod all gamers first need is a copy non-pirated copy of the game version 4.04 (The newest version of The Witcher 3) on either GOG, Steam, or Epic Game Stores. This mod is available to download through Nexus Mods.

Wrapping up
CD PROJEKT RED aren’t really interested in making “The Witcher” MMO. However, this mode may be the closest thing that we ever get to an MMO set in The Witcher’s universe. It’s not perfect but it doesn’t need to be as it could be a fun idea for one of PC’s most beloved RPGS ever made.
