Pokemon Pokopia has been a huge hit for the Nintendo Switch too and fans have been excited to know the game’s future with many expecting it to receive a significant DLC content update in the future. With the current information and leaks that we have it seems like Game Freak is about to pull the same trick they did before back on the Game Boy and expand the series to multiple regions again.

Pokemon Pokopia’s DLC leaks suggest the game will stick to Kanto region

At the moment Pokemon Pokopia doesn’t contain the entire Kantor region. This has led fans to speculate that the rest of the region will appear in an upcoming DLC. Recent Pokemon games have added content through expansion passes and free updates, so it makes sense to see why this would be the best way to expand the world.

There have been leaks confirming a Pokopia DLC that would add areas like Lavender town, Viridian City, Cerulean City, Cinnabar Island, Indigo Plateau and the Indigo League but this has yet to be officially confirmed. Its unclear whether this DLC will take the form of a paid content update that injects everything at once, a gradual addition of new or free updates that flesh out the world.

Pokemon Pokopia should head into Johto region next

Pokemon Pokipia is successful enough to warrant a sequel, but that’s not necessarily guaranteed. After all the Pokémon Let’s Go games were also huge hits, but the series has yet to continue.

Beyond that a Pokemon Pokopia sequel that went to a new region would need to repeat the setup of the first game – an established Pokemon region has been abandoned and a needs to save everyone we are transforming. The only way to pull that off would be to visit a new region. Rather than doing a full blown sequel, Gamefreak should do a huge expansion to the base version of Pokemon, and give fans something they asked for, which is to let players journey from Kanto to Johto, such as Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green and the Pokemon Let’s Go games.

The two regions are already deeply connected, and it could act as a direct continuation of the story, but Ditto needing to check out the situation at the Brass Tower, which involves fixing the entire region. Fans have been eager to return to Johto Region for years now, yet Game Freak has seemed silent to do so, despite revisiting Kanto on multiple occasions.

Pokemon Pokopia Offers the perfect way to visit Johto in a non-canon way and explore the region that made so many people fall in love with the Pokémon franchise Gold and Silver are overdue for new remake and Pokémon Pokopia DLC could be the perfect way to return players to the region.

There has also been a potential Pokemon Pokopia leak apparently, Kingler will receive special treatment similar to Mosslax (Mossy version of Snorlax in Pokemon Pokopia) in Pokopia’s DLC. However, it’s still not officially confirmed.

Pokemon Pokopia has sold over 2.2 million copies worldwide for Nintendo Switch 2 in its first four days of release, and the game is already ranked as the fourth best selling game for Nintendo Switch 2.

Pokemon Pokopia pretty different from other Pokemon games that we all grew up playing. It replaces battling with build featuring, a post apocalyptic world and using a Ditto as the main “Protagonist,” focused more on gathering resources and crafting. It leans more towards Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley vibes, which is a great start for someone who never played any Pokemon games before, but want to get their hands on and tryout Pokemon games.
