Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) is all set to receive its major update in the form of version 2.5, ‘To Be Fuel For The Night’. This is a major version update, and brings with it several new additions, including new playable characters, a brand new region as well as several additional festive events.
We will be breaking down the entirety of version 2.5 below, with an emphasis on the most important bits that you need to know.
Zenless Zone Zero v2.5 Release Date and Time
To Be Fuel For The Night, that is, version 2.5 of Zenless Zone Zero arrives to all eligible platforms on December 29, 2025 at around 7 PM Pacific Time (PT; UTC -8). The list of supported platforms range from the PC and PS5 to mobile devices on Android and iOS.
Obviously, as time zones are a thing, expect there to be differing release schedules depending on your region. We’ve listed a table with the expected release timings for a variety of time zones below:

Version 2.5 will be preceded by a maintenance that will last around 5 hours, give or take. Assuming that the downtime isn’t extended for some reason, be prepared for when the server goes temporarily offline, 5 hours ahead of the patch release timing.
Everything New Added To Zenless Zone Zero v2.5
Version 2.5 of Zenless Zone Zero brings with it quite a few additions, including two new Agents, Ye Shunguang and Zhao. Both characters are of the S Rank rarity, which means you will have to (potentially) spend quite a few pulls to get them:

The two S-Rank units also bring with them a total of 3 W-Engines:
- Cloudcleave Radiance: S Rank/Attack
- Half-Sugar Bunny: S Rank/Defense
- Cauldron of Clarity: A Rank/Rupture
Cloudcleave Radiance and Half-Sugar Bunny are the bis W-Engines for Ye Shunguang and Zhao respectively. Similarly, a total of two new types of Drive Discs (Artifacts, like in Genshin Impact) have been added with version 2.5 of ZZZ.

These include the White Water Ballad and Sining Aria. We also have a brand new, S-Rank Bangboo added to the game, known as Sprout. Sprout is a playable combat Bangboo who pairs nicely with Ye Shunguang.
Additionally, the following characters are scheduled to receive buffs/reworks in version 2.5:
- Soldier 11
- Grace
- Burnice
- Ellen
- Solider 0 Anby
These buffs are quite important, and help elevate these characters to a more playable state in the current game meta. After all, units such as Grace and Solider 11 were released in the first few months of the game, and have been heavily outclassed by now.
As such, a rework is mandatory.
We will also be getting two new character skins, one for Jane Doe (Nocturne of Light) and the other for Ye Shunguang (Touch of Twilight). Other than these, there should be your usual year end and start events, with a handful of freebies along the way.
